What to Do Before and After Hijama Sessions

Prepare before your session After your session
Fast from the night before if your appointment is in the morning. If unable to fast the night before, please fast at least 2-3 hours prior to the appointment.

Wear appropriate, comfortable clothing. I will provide you an exam gown, if I am unable to reach your cupping points. Your privacy and comfort is guaranteed.

It is recommended to bring a chaperone if this is your first treatment, you are elderly,
if you have a jinn related condition, or you are ill.

If you have any cuts or wounds, please cover them before arriving at your session.

All of the above information will be reviewed with you prior to your appointment, as well as an initial consultation if this is your first hijama treatment.
Drink honey mixed with water and have some dates

Avoid dairy and red meat for 2 days. (These foods require more energy and blood flow during digestion which can reduce blood flow to hijama treatment areas and slowing the healing process.

Avoid shower/bath for 24 hours; Or, if needed, take a short shower but allow no soap/shampoo on any area of hijama.

Apply olive oil or coconut oil on the cupped area to help itchiness, aid healing, reduce scarring, and reduce risk of infection

Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours

Avoid sexual relations for 24 hours

Some people experience a burst of energy after treatment, however, please avoid strenuous activity.
